Vag-Com??

Hi guys,

I just did the clear corner mod and would like to vag-com the night time running lights. Also I would like to do the other vag-coms ie: windows with remote, seat belt chime and back up sensor.
Do I need to spend $349 on a Ross-Tech cable or will something like this http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Vag-Com-Compatible-Cable-Interface-VW-Audi-VagCom_W0QQitemZ330123556040QQihZ014QQcategoryZ309 21QQcmdZViewItem work?? It's a cheap ebay one, and I'll probably never use it again. I've read about other users having no problems, is this on compatible with the RS4? Thanks in advance for any help.

Find someone near you that has a Vag-com and don't risk screwing anything up

The ebay cables work just fine for NON CAN enabled cars but the RS4...

with FSI is likely ME9 which is CAN enabled so you will need the full version of vag-com that is also CAN enabled. If you used the vag com locator make sure you contact the people first as 90% on the list do not have the latest CAN protocol vag tool.

just so I understand, you bought a 70k car and won't drop $ 350.00 on the 1 tool you really need?

Trust me..you will use it more than once.
Buy the real deal from Ross-tech.
Worth every penny in my opinion.

More than happy to help anyone out.

Is there a list of Vag-Com mods for the RS4?

ie how do I know how much fun I can have?

Just received my new cable yesterday...
