WARNING... Speed's World Challenge Touring Car results from Mosport inside. WARNING...
From what a gather, the track was wet. It was a cool 55 degrees F and rainy. A lot of cars went off track causing 3 full course yellows. There was a lot of passing going on during the race. The race was delayed because a car that was well qualified blew its motor on the formation lap and the race was stopped. It was then decided to make it a rolling start and not the usual standing start.
Briefly,
Pobst (Mazda)took the lead on the rolling start from Chip (STaSIS) who was on the pole but that did not last very long because Chip took the lead back until the first full course yellow on lap 5. On lap 9 the green flag is given and on lap 11 again a full course yellow. The race is now officially a timed event. Lap 13 and the race is on (green flag). Chip falls to third place on the restart. Lap 14, full course yellow a car is in the gravel trap. Lap 17, green flag and Chip tries right away a move on the number two car (42) by trying to pass on the outside in turn one, it does not work. Lap 18, Chip now tries to pass on the inside of turn one, same result. Finally on lap 19 he makes the pass stick in turn 5. One more car to reel in, the leading car number 20 and on lap 21 he passes him on the inside. On that same lap he manages to pull away on him keeping the lead until the checkered flag.
Great win again for Chip, STaSIS and the boys that work on the cars. BTW, his fastest time in the race came after he past everyone for the lead and it was 1.5 second faster then the second fastest time. He finished the race almost 6.5 seconds ahead of the second place car.
Congrats to everyone involved in the team.

Great race indeed
Too bad that it was a rolling start because of a cautio before the start of the lap.
