Warranty
I believe my warranty is up in June. Has anyone purchased aftermarket warranty for their RS4? I talked with the dealership about Certified Audi and they would have to buy the vehicle and resell it to me, which I would have to repay taxes. Sounds like a joke. I checked round and some places are covering $4000 but I have heard on here the engine cost in the mid $20,000’s? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

My advice is put the $4k in the bank for repairs. Most of these 3rd party warranties are a joke. The chances of getting an engine replacement out of them would be next to nil if you ever did need it. Most are also exclusive meaning they only cover named parts. If something outside of that fails causing the problem they will deny the warranty claim. Do some searching around and let the nightmares start!

Just to add...
I know some folks on the list would disagree but I 2nd AudiJay's opinion. Once they get *your* money, it is hard to get it back from them. Put it in ING or low risk investment. At least you will have control on how it is spent.
A friend of mine was checking an avenue for me here is what she said :The girl called me today about about an extended warranty... she said your car would put them out of business if anything were to go wrong!!! She said it looked like it was still under manufacturer's warranty.. but the only route to go would be through the dealership for a warranty." Ha good stuff.

I am in the same situation, factory warranty on my 07 RS4 w/ 36k miles is up in 2 weeks. The quote I got from my local dealership (University Audi in Seattle) was $3800 for 3/36 and $4900 for 4/48, all sold through Audi but administered through Fidelity as their Platinum plan.
Anyone know where to source the Fidelity Platinum plan at a better rate? Is there any downside from buying this from an out of state dealership or other reseller?
