A well running Stg 3 will walk an RS4 pretty hard...
Have had several pulls on 2 diff RS4's (one w/ Miltek). However, I think the B5 body is timeless, but the RS4 is just so sexy. And the sound of that car is absolutely intoxicating. I love my B5, but would love to own an RS4; no doubt. Search the archives and you'll find plenty on this subject as it has been discussed many times over...

RS4. Warranty. Reliability. 40/60 split diff. Brakes. Sounds.
The B5 S4 was a good car back in the day - even if a bit half baked in some ways. It needed modding to fix some flaws, in addition to making it go faster, handle better, stop shorter. So when you bring modding into the picture, where do you stop? There are any number of home built or modified monsters who can eat both a stage III S4 and an RS4. For that matter, a stock Veyron will laugh at them. Most sport bikes too.
We bought our RS4 because it has a warranty, is versatile, and doesn't bore us to tears like most cars out there. When we want charisma, we take one of our other warranty-less very modded cars, which offer more personality and driver enjoyment than almost any new car.
But we don't confuse the two types of car.

The RS4 is great right out the box
Thats why I bought it, Besides the Tubi I will not be doing any modding. Have no desire to be a "race car" driver and the RS4 is just so much fun to use as a daily driver

Healthy Stage III S4's are putting more to the wheels than the RS4 has at the crank.
I'll be disappointed if my car isn't at 475 wheel horsepower when I dyno it this summer.

I thought we were just talking about about straight line performance
of a Stg 3 S4 vs RS4, no? I'm not talking about all the info you included...trust me, i agree w/ you on many accounts. I absolutely love the RS4 and am in no way putting it down...come on, Veyron, now how did you bring that one into the picture? It's not everyday you get to play w/ a Veyron...everyone i have encountered (probably 5 or 6), were driving speed limit at that.
