Default went in for MIL...engine misfire

seems like this is happening to enough people to deem it a problem.

got in my car after a 10 day vacation and MIL light was on (wouuldnt go off after i turned the car off/on about 5 times)

wierd thing was, the car felt absolutely fine.

in the past(about a month ago) i have actually had the MIL light blink and im guessing it was for a 'misfire' cause i actually felt it. (after nearly stalling but then cathching it)... that time the engine was idling very rough and you could hear it was clearly not right..but that was solved easily by just restarting the car

between then and now it has been fine..and this MIL was really unforseen...techs said the computer was indicating misfires, but they drove the car and said it was fine

i guess what im asking, is can you know for sure when its a false alarm or if you actually need something replaced...noticed someone else who had this problem got their injectors swapped out in the right bank of the cylinders.

further, and i dont know if its related, i do occasionally experience that unexplainable power dip around 2-3k when normally driving

anything to really worry about?
