what is the best radar/laser jammer? Escort or Valentine 1?
I have had an Escort 8500 in the past in my S4 Avant. I was wondering what Valentine 1 was like and how well I can conceal it? The beauty about the Escort 8500 was that you could not see it inside the car and it was hidden all through the grills.
Can people send photos of their Valentine 1 detectors.
Are there any new detectors on the market?

Good question! I'm surprised nobody has asked about this before but
STFA for more. Actually I'm kidding with you, but this has been covered on other boards in the past.
you can hardwire your V1 so it is above / to the right of the rearview mirror. With the remote display - Toy guy created originally or now by LI-S4, you can't see it at all.

couple things: neither of those are jammers, just detectors. the V1 is awesome, but....
...not the stealthiest of systems. you can do an install that hides the wires and provides dedicated power, but the unit itself has to sit up high on the windshield (usually above and beside the mirror) with a clear view forward and back. you can also add a remote display which will hide the red display elements on the head unit, but the unit itself contains the sensors and there is no way to add remote sensing (in the grills or whatever), as with other systems.

if radar is legal where you live stealth is irrelevant
the V1 is the only one with the directional info. it is also upgradeable. you can get a small remote display in order to leave the main unit looking like it's off so no one follows you.
it is among the most sensitive if not the most sensitive unit. and intense sun and heat have never hurt it.
i suggest a V1 with the blinder or lidatek front systems. i have the former. you only need the front protection.

V1 is the best in my opinion. However, if you want stealth...
you should check out the k40 www.k40.com. The k40 is laser jammer and detector and is integrated via bluetooth to the dash. I have this and a hardwired v1 in my car. The v1 consistently picks up signals quicker but lacks the jammer.

Stealth install
There are several reasons for a stealth install.
1) it looks better
2) you are in a region where it is illegal to have a radar detector or laser jammer.
2a) however, even if you have hidden your radar detector out of view, it can still be detected.
According to Radar Roy http://www.radarbusters.com
"The use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicle is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC. and while on military bases."
"In Canada, the only three provinces that allow their use are Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan."
"Laser Jammers ... are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC. "
If you live or travel through Virginia or DC with even a hidden stealth radar detector, you can still be detected by a Spectre Radar Detector Detector (RDD), if your detector is operating. Once detected, you will be pulled over and your car will be searched.
Currently there is only one known commercial radar detector that is undetectable, the Beltronics Sti Driver.
If you are not traveling in Va or DC, there is no legal reason to hide your radar detector. Aesthetics is, of course, another matter.

stealth is relevant because i drive through multiple states, and laws change over time...
i also hate the looks of wires and extra boxes.
and i did say the V1 is great, and it is possible to make it somewhat more stealthy.
