car from factory? Should it be an issue ? And do the dealership mechanics get special training regarding RS4 servicing before they are allowed to sell the car?

Re: dealer has no cars assigned to them....
so you won't have a car until factory assigns one (and corresponding build date) to dealer. experiencing same problem and looking for a car in other dealerships....

Allocation means the dealer's right to order a car or a type of car like the R8...
IIRC the R8 won't be available to all dealers to sell. It could be that the RS4 falls into this category or because there only so many being built worldwide and available for sale they limit the amount of cars available to each dealers.
I do believe there is some special training for the RS4.

It's in the same category(so I was told) however the R8 requires not only R8 trained service tech's
it also requires the dealerships have dedicated R8 service bays (where the RS4 will also be serviced)
I backed out on my R8 and am going to wait till later on next year and go for a TDI or V10(if either option is avl) once I see how the dust settles
