What does it mean when my car is being "pulled into production as we speak".........
I called the Audi dealer and that's what they told me and I asked for a production date, they said next week and than that in a couple of weeks or maybe more that they will have an ETD. They told me I should have the car "conservatively speaking" by early Nov.
I read in this forum that somebody ordered in May and got it in September, and obviously that's getting me a little nervous. My lease is up in November on my MB and I'm trying to figure out exact dates so I can organize when to return the other car to pick up the new toy

Plan to rent a car..and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up early...
OR..extend your lease for a few extra days/weeks.
There are a lot of variables that go into this...trucking firms..dock delays...etc...
I ordered my first S4 ..and kept on thinking.."where the heck is it"..it was showing sitting on the dock in SoCal...and then all of a sudden my dealer says it just arrived on the truck. This is NOT an exact science..trust me on this.

Re: Plan to rent a car..and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up early...
I ordered my car July 12th and I just got a production date week of October 9th with delivery to my dealer December 18th. Man the wait is killing me!

typically from start of production to delivery its about 8-16 weeks...
to many variables to get exact date like steve said plan to rent a car or extend your lease a month and be suprised when its there in early november. My S4 took closer to 16 weeks, it was delayed at the port for over 4 weeks, it happens.

Thanks guys
I guess I may have to borrow one of my parents cars for the time being until it arrives. Hope it's sooner rather than later, but than again it could be a good Christmas prez for myself

wow that's a long wait...
Why did it go into production Oct 9th when you ordered it in July? I ordered mine in August and it sounds like they are starting production soon.

I got lucky - 5 weeks from build completion to driving it home...
My car was built four weeks ahead of schedule and delivered to me three days after release from port. However, total time from order placement to delivery was just shy of four months.

I dont know, I have been to the Audi dealership so many times that yesterday my girlfriend bought a new A3. She gets it next week and I will still be waiting. I am sure its gonna be worth it.
