Hi, got a CEL and opened the hood and saw this wire chewed away. What part or part number is this?

Thanks

Holy leaves batman! Looks like a mouse made a nest in there and decided to chew through your wiring.

Yes, outside...working on building a new garage.

Any idea on what the part is?

It's the wiring harness and will be expensive and difficult to replace. No worries - that's a very easy splice and solder repair, then renew the black plastic conduit, available at many auto parts stores in multiple diameters.

Clear the ECU in VAG-COM and you're good to go.

Can you tell me what wire/sensor it is? Can I just unclip and replace the entire thing?

Thank you! You're saying it's not an easy fix?

I have the ETKA software but have not installed it yet as I will be doing a complete rebuild of my PC soon and I only want to install it once. Maybe in Feb I can look this up

It's a very easy fix. All that's needed is an easy wire repair and a new plastic conduit. Ten cents worth of parts. To have the shop do it, maybe 0.5 hours? 1.0 hours tops. The sensor should be just fine.

Edit:: OK, maybe 5 or 10 bux for a coil of conduit.
