Bleu CHEEZE (Loren) 03-26-2008 07:21 PM

What sort of "security" devices do you keep on hand in your car?

gtc 03-26-2008 07:24 PM

I do not have a 21" baseball bat in my car.

Bleu CHEEZE (Loren) 03-26-2008 07:49 PM

where do you keep it?

April 03-26-2008 08:16 PM

Drive an odd old stickshift car where the hand brake doesn't look like anything else people

have encountered before.

I can leave the Alfa pretty much anywhere and it is fine. Even the wheels won't fit on anything else.

For the RS4, it's still available at dealers and that is what insurance is for.

gtc 03-26-2008 08:16 PM

I do not keep it on the floor of the backseats for easy access.

I have not had to use it yet, but it has comforted me on more than one occasion.

I leave the price tags on it in case I am questioned about it, but that has not happened yet.

There was this one ficticious time I was at Costco...

Bleu CHEEZE (Loren) 03-26-2008 08:17 PM

It would be pretty hard to get another lava grey RS4

Bob W. 03-26-2008 08:20 PM

i've perfected the "crazy serial killer" staredown.

FooFighterRS4 03-26-2008 08:25 PM

You guys don't use the handgun compartment on the front seats? JK

sykotoy 03-26-2008 08:27 PM

Myself is all i need / and quick track alarm

April 03-26-2008 08:50 PM

Yes it would, but another RS4 isn't a problem. I value my Alfas above the RS4, given the rarity.

In the end, if somebody really wants a car, they are going to take it - if by flatbed if nothing else.

The South Africans have an under car flamethrower device.

A dented and dirty RS4 with curbed wheels and trashed leather might be the best deterrent;-)

edwardschmedward 03-26-2008 10:54 PM

The driver's faith that "everything happens for a reason." .....

...and that reason has to do with personal and Spiritual growth. I don't belive in duality...hence no evil...all is good/God/The Universe...

If someone wants something from me, there must be an important reason for it, and I have enough life experience to know that I (and anything I have 'on loan' from The Universe/God)am/is just not that important.

zx9 03-27-2008 01:25 AM

wow, i thought you were kidding about the flamethrower option...

until i googled it!..

TTinGables 03-27-2008 05:10 AM

LOL@ handbrake. I had a Milano Verde 3.0, red of course. Loved that car.

bpp 03-27-2008 05:29 AM

well said.

cit1991 03-27-2008 07:13 AM

I have two licenses in my wallet, and no, I'm not a pilot.

I have a Texas 17+1 security system.

April 03-27-2008 07:46 AM

Amazing, huh? How about the shin chopper?

April 03-27-2008 07:48 AM

I love 'em so much I have spares! 3 street going ones and 1 race car!

sillyboy 03-27-2008 07:51 AM

Sig Sauer P229....

April 03-27-2008 07:51 AM

Good outlook. Was reading about a fellow who said that we are always praying

for things to go our own way, when in fact we should be praying for the grace and wisdom to know what to do when what has been preordained is going to happen to us anyway. Telling a higher being what we want, when all religion says the higher being knows what is in our hearts already, and has already decided what they are doing (if you believe in that stuff) long ago, is the height of hubris.

DaytonaGreyRS4 03-27-2008 08:23 AM

Re: What sort of "security" devices do you keep on hand in your car?

HK USP .45 Compact, gotta stick with the German theme.

TTinGables 03-27-2008 08:33 AM

Brava! Io ho smesso perche costa troppo, dopo un certo punto. :-)

But I'd get an 8C in a nanosecond. :-)

April 03-27-2008 09:04 AM

Well, hubby has the RS4 and Ferrari, so I have some catching up to do;-)

JonRS4 03-27-2008 09:37 AM

The Javier Bardem look then.....that would work.

wankeldude 03-27-2008 10:08 AM

Hold on tightly...let go lightly

RS4saloondrivr 03-27-2008 10:42 AM

agree but then I also use Bob's crazy killer look at times and I have enough scars on my face and an

an old nasal fracture from old sports injuries that I can pull it off. I'm also from Wisconsin where other than cheese we are known for some of the most notorious serial killers. It's the fvcking cold and if it doesn't warm up soon I'm gonna lose it.(In my best George Costanza voice)

edwardschmedward 03-27-2008 11:48 AM

I remember being in a shop in New Orleans, and wondering how appropriate it...

might be to purchase some of the 2D "art" of a certain "serial killer." But I just read that he's not from the land of cheese...

Clowning around?

My "security"

Remington model 51...best pocket pistol ever made:

ELEVENS 03-27-2008 04:56 PM

The only gun I own that will fit in there is a P32 KelTec

..which weighs exactly 6.6 oz. (no kidding). It goes BANG but I wouldn't depend on it in a life-and-death situation. I keep a true combat weapon elsewhere (Sig-Sauer P226). Yes, i have a Concealed Carry Permit. I don't need a weapon, but not unlike a dog who licks his ***, I carry for the same reason - because I can.

jjm's quattro 03-27-2008 05:58 PM
