Whey debadge?
I have always had this bias against folks who debadge. My assumption has always been that they were trying to hide the car they were driving and fool the rest of us into thinking they were driving the best model of the line etc. I do not think debadging is as bad as putting fake badges on to really fool folks, but I just always thought it was cheesy in the context of my assumptions.
I have noticed that lots of folks on this board debadge and so thought I should would ask folks why they do so. Maybe my assumptions are off and I don't mind having my bias changed.
I will cross post this on the Q7 board as well.

I thought a lot of people do it for a cleaner look. For example in europe...
you can order the cars (whether A4 or RS4) with the badge delete option. I guess it started there and now alot of US folks do it. I've run my car debadged before and run it with a badge from the tuning company I was using. Guess I just wanted to try out some different looks. Now it is back badged again

I did on my B5 A4 because it made the car have a cleaner look than the cluttered trunk with three
badges on it.

I debadged the V8 on both fenders because they are tacky and fugly...
I didn't debadge the RS4 on the trunk lid and grille because it tells people I have a h000ge caulk
