while we're on the topic of the Euro wheel....
...I don't think I've seen any of you who have it installed post an answer to the question of bluetooth functionality. If you have the Euro wheel installed, will your cell still pair and can you dial using the MMI controls on the headunit? If so, what happens if you get an incoming call...how do you pick up?

You loose the ability to make and answer calls from the steering wheel. To answer a call, you need to reach over to the head unit to accept. It's a definite downside of the eurowheel, but I still prefer it to the US spec wheel.

I've been kicking around the idea of buying the new TT wheel
It a flat-bottom that retains the buttons that we love, but I've read that the wheel is thinner. Might be a decent compromise...

I looked at the TT wheel a few days ago...
It was in a new TT. I did not measure it but it seemed about as thick as our current wheel. The leather in not perforated. All in all it looked like it would be a good alternative for our car.

I looked at both the TT and R8 wheel, but installed Euro RS4 wheel...
The Euro wheel simply looks better. The perforation matches the shift **** perfectly and changes the look of the interior completely. I lose the functionality with the wheel, but it's turning out to be less of a hassle than I imagined.

for me, it's less about button functionality and more about look and feel.
my only real concern was the BT pairing...I think I can live with using MMI for making calls and adjusting the stereo.

Not me
Since it took over a week to get the replacement tire, I've been driving my son's car (he doesn't turn driving age until next month) and it has no buttons on the steering wheel. I wouldn't want to part with the steering wheel buttons on my RS.

drive into a wall and let us know.
j/k
with the correct VAG coding, it can be installed in a US spec car without the airbag light on, so presumably it would work as normal. but there's only one way to know for sure...
