White/matched city("parking") lights info
After the original Hoen city lights were found to run too hot, I have been running the stock bulbs which are pretty yellow for my liking.
Anyway, I ordered Hoen's current city light offering (their city light LEDs http://www.hoen-usa.com/city2.htm) and found that they didn't fit. The side-facing "bubbles" from the radial LED make them too large to fit.
So being rather determined, I broke out the hobby knife and shaved off the side-facing plastic bubbles to make the bulb flush with the base. The result is now that they fit and the all 5 LED bulbs still function.
The only problem is that they trigger the 'parking light out' indicator. Anyone know how to VAGCOM this off?
The other problem is that there is a subtle flicker, once every 2 secs which happens to both the shaved and unshaved bulbs. Probably wont bother most but irritating to me.
Thoughts?<ul><li><a href="http://home.comcast.net/~drreczek/RS4/citylights.JPG">Hoen LED city lights, shaved bulb on the left, normal bulb on the right</a></li></ul>

You can't disable the 'parking light out' indicator with VAG-COM, you need to ...
add resistors in parallel with the LED bulbs to make them take enough current for the bulb failure (non-programmable) hardware to be happy.

Anyone have the codes for that? Tried searching and can't find.
And am I correct that it is to go to "Euro" mode? With the headlight switch turned to "parking lights" it will be parking lights only? No amber turn signals?
Thanks,
Tony

what about the DRLs?
Can that warning be VAG'd off or is that also hardware warning?
I put LED's into the DRL spot (2056/1156) on the B7S4 and got a warning and eventually took them out. I now have a 2008 RS4 and would be interested in putting them in if the warning can be disabled.
thanks in advance.

Re: what about the DRLs?
From what I understand, you can disable the DRL's, but not the warning. With VAG-COM I changed the coding so the DRL's never come on. (In Canada we don't have that handy switch to turn them off.)
To get rid of the warning you have to add resistors, as PetrolDave mentioned above.

What about this VAGCOM coding? I found a couple references, but not exactly sure if it does that
