I did. 3 day job, and the EPC never came back.

Default Great to hear it solved the problem. I was worried about it reoccuring. But 3 days?

Wow...any idea why so long? My dealer said they will spend part of the day taking mine off and then the new intake manifold arrives via overnight shipping tomorrow and they put it all back together. They are expecting it to be ready by end of business tomorrow. So 2 days but roughly 1.5 days of work.

Default Why did you have to replace?

may I ask why the intake manifold needed replaced and what were the indications it was bad? I want to make sure I know what to check for if/when I see those issues.

Was it under warranty? What caused it to go bad do you think?

Default yeah, they're quite hopeless here.

I bet this is how it came to be

- my car sat around with no one working in it for a good half day,

- took em half day to drop the bumper, then they packed and went home,

came back the next morning,

- took half a day to remove the old manifold,

- another half day to put the new one one, went home,

on 3rd day,

- fit bumper

- car sits around doing nothing for half day before the service advisor calls me

Don't even get me started on this one. They never figured out how to address that gap

I specfically asked about the bumper and they said it wouldn't come off. Odd.

Default 2nd time with EPC light. First time they did one of the vacuum hoses TSBs.

When EPC light was on I had rev limit around 6500-6600rpm.

Turned car off, EPC light went out but performance was intermitant. Sometimes the intake manifold flaps would engage at 5500rpm other times they would stay stuck open or stuck closed at all rpms.

Code in ECU said intake manifold flap stuck on or something like that I don't recall exactly.

Dealer thought they were going to be replacing the unit outside the engine that controls the flaps inside the manifold but after they got my car in and did whatever diagnostics/testing they do they determined that the problem was with the flaps inside the manifold and that it would have to be replaced.

Certainly under warranty. I have a 2007 with 11k miles.

No idea what causes any of the issues with this engine. Strange to have so many silly issues for a Halo car/engine. I wonder if the R8 owners have the same issues or none at all. I'm pretty upset with them on a $75k car I'd be really pissed off if my $120k car was having the same problems.

They are either clueless or liars, from what i've been told.
