The question I have though is on this particular car it seem they're bolted in from the back versus clipped like other A4s. Am I correct here?

bolted in, it's gotta be due to placement at air flow vents. Clips probably don't cut it.

I'm wondering if I can order an A4 clear reflector and swap each plastic face...?

whether this is due to the way they mount or the actual lens, I can't remember. Someone on the B7 A4 board might know.

All one has to do is remove the wheelwell liner and unclip the reflectors from behind apparently.

In fact, if you put your finger up through the front bumper slots, you can easily feel that the side markers are somehow bolted into place and not clipped or stuck on like other Audi models.
