Who's the bastard that just took my RS4 at New Country Audi?
I called up this afternoon and decided I would finally accept the one sitting on their lot (the only one on their lot) which was Daytona Gray with Carbon Fiber. I had been mulling whether to wait for my Aluminum trim order.
I was told by my guy that someone had just put a deposit in on that car and that we'd have to wait a few hours to see if they were really going to take it.
So to make matters worse I had to wait all freaking evening just to find out you took it afterall.
Thanks for ruining my weekend :PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Now I am sure I will be waiting an eternity while they try to find me another one.

Any photos of Phantom Black yet from owners? I may have the option to get one..
In lieu of the Daytona Gray..
It's really *not* my first choice, because I think black is kind of boring at times. but my patience grows thinner with each passing day.

Yes and No
I agree with you somewhat. I would have said the same thing until I saw Bob W.'s Avus RS4. Even after seeing his car for the first time, I flat out said I would only want the Phantom black. The Avus color actually keeps coming up in my mind from time to time, and now I would say i am 33.3%/33.3% on those two colors. (The other 1/3 goes to the suzuka grey pearl).

What is suzuka?
I take it that is some other color from the A8 line?
I think usually I'd say yeah wait for the one you want. But this car is so rare to find that I just want the f***ing thing already.
So it pisses me off that I made the decision to take the damn thing and I literally missed it by a freaking hour.
Trust me, that feeling suuuux!!
I really am not into black cars. I haate having to deal with the swirls and the dirt and scratches. I just don't want the hassle. So if I come across an Avus silver, I'll go for it.

I'm in Westchester/CT
I don't know anything about how dealer inventory works, but I am guessing that my dealer can only try to find cars in their vacinity (250 miles max?)..
Am I wrong?
Also, when they transfer these cars, do they get "inadvertenly" driven at all, or face any potential dingage when on the highway?

You can Purchase out of State
Transport by reputable private transport is not that expensive. I know they had a car yesterday. may be gone by now. I had dibs on it but went with another dealer.
SoCal has multiple dealers with high enough volume to generate a few cars each.
How bad do you want it? I can only tell you it is worth every penney IMHO.

Ok, but what if I already put a $1k deposit at my current dealer?
Do I do this through my current dealer? Or do I go to them and say cancel my order, give me my money back?
Problem is I already have all my financing details worked out with my dealer, I would hate to go through that hassle again with a new dealer thousands of miles away.
And how much more does the transport add to the cost?
