Why did Audi put the RS4 wheels on the A8?

RS Style are always the top upgrade wheels on Audi models...
A8's, S Line, etc had the older 5 or 9 spoke wheels as options. The RS 5 spoke stays the same since it is a relatively new design while the 7 spoke has been updated across the board.

the only thing close is the 20" 9-spoke wheels that are optional on the A8 W12 only. they are a similar style to the old B5 RS4 wheels, but those were 18".
the current RS4 wheels aren't available on any other car Audi makes.

for MY '07 20" 7 Spokes are available on all A8 models in the US (Not S8 tho)
On a D3 (I'll take more of some this week)

In North America, you can only get the new 7 Spoke quattro GmbH wheel on the A8. The C6 gets the other new 19" 20 spoke BBS instead. The other models get the old and new RS 5 spoke style.

For 2007, the RS4 style 7-double spoke wheels in 20" are an option on at least the A8 I know when you order the sport package. You're able to switch these out for the standard 19" 5-arm wheels with the sport package. I saw a 2007 A8L with them at my dealer the other day, but they look different than the RS4's because they're polished.
