Why Do So Many of You Order yOUR cARS?
I am thinking about an RS4 purchase ina few months. There are three or four dealers here in CO and they either have an RS4 in stock (currently red or yellow), or they have one arriving in 3 - 5 weeks (currently there is a gray and a black on order).
When I am ready to buy, If none of the options fit me currently, I would probably hop a plane and go find one that fits my specs. I just looked on autotrader and there are > 30 RS4s available at dealers in just about every color.
I write this in response to the agony that I see some of you going through as you await your RS4!

probably because there is not a big difference between used and new prices
at this point, and when buying a 70k+ car, people want to make sure they get exactly what they want. Also, break-in is very very important.

As you said, there are only a red or yellow available, in CO. I had a choice of a Avus or Black and
didn't want either. I also didn't want to drive 1000+ miles to get one from another state. I wanted a Mugello blue car which wasn't available anywhere.
Driving up to a car lot and just buying whatever is available works for some folks but not others. It's all down to whether you want to compromise or not.
If the dealer had exactly what I was looking for I would have my RS4 already. What you have to remember is that there were very few cars available anywhere in the US several months ago when many people placed their orders.
I was *almost* tempted by an Avus Silver a few weeks ago but decided not to get it as I only had to wait another month to get my ordered car.

I am really getting fed up with Audis no idea when my car will be in replies. My dealer just tells me anyday for the past two weeks. Audi of America wont even respond to my inquiries. Its very frustrating to say the least.

Well, when one wants their car serviced......
it's better to have a closer working relationship with your local dealer. Especially for a car like this. Plus, the reality is that the waiting, researching, anticipating is all part of the fun too. It's not like it's a one year wait. 3-4 months for a car like this isn't so bad, to get exactly what you want.
