Winter Set - Help!!
Folks
I have asked this question a few times. I need a 18inch winter set for my RS4 without SPACERS. The one that tirerack offers 18x7.5 is okay, want options. Any options would be appretiated.
If I can't find something good, what about going to an 19?.
Thanks again

Why are you so set on 18's?
Why not just get a second set of the perfectly fitting, beautiful looking, not too heavy stock wheels and go with 255/35/19 winter tires? The tirerack option will leave you using 225/40/18 tires, meaning that 99% of the time, when you are not actually driving in snow 8" deep, you will be compromising performance, traction and appearance. Even in 8" of snow, with quattro, and 255 winter tires, you will do just fine. I've done this winter tire thing for years and I live in western Massachsetts where we do get a fair amount of the white stuff. Trust me, you'll be fine going with the stock sized set-up. It's what I'm doing myself.

B7 RS4 18" rims
These rims are OEM for the RS4. They are 18"x8.5". They fit w/o any spacers. They look similar to the RS6 rims, but the spokes are narrower. They look pretty easy to clean.
Note that only XL winter tires in 255/40/28 are Bridgestone LM-25. So far I'm less than pleased w/ them ride qualtiy wise. As the winter has been super mild here in the NE, I have no idea how than perform in bad weather.
These are slightly more expensive ($50~$75per wheel) than the 19" rims. So realy you're not going to save any money. And they don't look as good as the 19" rims. However, as I said they super easy to clean. And also gives the car a bit of a different look.

Info you need....
Stock wheels are 19x9. This is a difficult size to find in the aftermarket. Most of the aftermarket wheel options in this size are very expensive multi-piece wheels. Certainly not what you want for winter. At $440 each, the stock wheel is hard to beat. As I said, it looks great, and is of moderate weight. Tirerack does have a number of 19x8.5" wheels that fit the RS4, but a 255mm wide tire will seat a bit better on a 9" wide wheel.
I ordered a full second set of stock wheels and tire pressure monitors mounted with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D in 255/35/19.
My car is coming in at the end of this month so my dealer will mount my winter set-up before I take delivery.
