Default Winter Set Help

Guys
Winter conditions are here. Can you receommend a good 18 or 19 inch set for the RS4 that are direct bolt on. I dont care how the car looks in winter. I just want something at a reasonable price.

many thanks

Default imo these are the best

decent size 18x8.5
no spacers required with the +20 ET fitament
urRS4 look
cheap

The stockers would do ya good too as many have choosen, however for me it seems a tad silly to have 19" winter wheels for snow. <ul><li><a href="http://www.hartmannwheels.com/1-425-895-0000/details/wheel/RS4_-_131_Replica_Wheels-125.html">http://www.hartmannwheels.com/1-425-895-0000/details/wheel/RS4_-_131_Replica_Wheels-125.html</a</li></ul>

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/137210/pict0405.jpg"></center><p>I would go 18", I just put my on and the extra rubber is great on our horrible Boston roads. Got RS6 Replica wheels, About $160ea, Fit over brakes and no spacers needed. For tires Dunlop M3's. Expensive part was they had to get TPMS from Audi for about $400

Default It isn't silly....here's why.....

Even for those of us who live where it snows often, usually, the roads are pretty well cleared after a day. In reality, how many days do you think you will really be driving your RS4 in a significant snow depth where a 255/40/18 tire will make a difference over a 255/35/19. My guess is probably never. Last year I drove though several inches of snow with no problem on my 255/35/19 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D. Once, I got caught in a snow storm and effortlessy drove through 8" of snow. Don't forget, these are quattro equipped vehicles!

Now.....for the other 146 days that I have my winter set-up on and the roads are actually clear and/or relatively dry, why do I want to compromise looks and performance.

Using this logic I went with a second set of stock wheels and stock size winter tires.

I'm not that concerned about the snow, It's the road conditions that worry me. We get tons of pot holes and they are tough to see when filled with slush. With 18" my car is going over road imperfections much smoother than my 19s did. Also a lot cheaper replacing a $160 replica wheel

I had everything done at Direct Tire, If your car has TPMS I was told by law they had to put it on, But have heard others here say there are ways to disable it. Not sure where they got the wheels but I found this online<ul><li><a href="http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?wheelbrand=OE+Replica&amp;wheelmodel=Aud i+RS6">http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?wheelbrand=OE+Replica&amp;wheelmodel=Aud i+RS6</a</li></ul>

so the spec is 18/8.5 with 5/112 bolt pattern
do you have specs on your tires...

I will check on the TPMS.

curious - will this wheel fit as well. looks like the same spec.
