Default Winter Test!

First time out in decent snow here in Denver and the dunlop M3s are great on the 19"s! I am so surprised at how well the grip is with this tires. The four wheel drive works quite well but no it is not a Rally machine but I have more confidence in this beast most other cars I see on the road. Drive with confidence but not carelessness and keep the power on lightly and she runs exceedingly well. Of course, once the power is off and brakes are on all things are equal and your at the will of physics but Audi tech helps tremendously. On a side note I had the chance to drive the RS4 back to back with a M5 and I am more satisfied than ever than this is the car for me. I never thought I-drive was that bad, but seeing the difference right next to each other it is obvious MMI is easier and more intuitive. The M5 is just too big and bulky, great car, but the RS feels like a true sports car in comparison, smaller and more purposeful. Anyways you guys were right and the Dunlops work great thanks and keep posting!

Default Wet Test!

The M3's really grip. This is my 3rd set, first on the RS4. I tried a 2000rpm launch tonight in the pouring rain (w/ ESP off of course) and the tires refused to spin and the car just bogged. Need to do a few more to find the RPM sweet spot for wet-pavement. Decent dry traction and very quiet running, even after they get worn (but not too worn, I replace after 50% wear for best optimum snow traction).

Have fun and let 'er rip!

Default I concur! I had no problems on my M3s today and the roads were definitely "interesting" in places..

I did however manage to get the traction control (ESP) light to flash on the dashboard! As I entered my side street making a right hander I gunned the engine a little to get the rear end to kick out (which it did) and have some fun, but the ESP quickly put an end to that !

I'll play again tomorrow morning, but I'll turn off the ESP & ASR first!

Default I'm driving into the snow tomorrow

I'm leaving in the morning to drive from Detroit to Chicago for a few days on business. I'm driving right into a "significant snowfall," perhaps 5-10 inches. I know I should probably play it safe and take the Jeep but I really, really want to drive the RS4. (I have other people from my company going with me and they'll be pissed if I end up getting us stuck in the snow.)

I'll have wait until the AM to see if I have the guts to take the Beast.

Default Snark not sure what tires you have...the car will take the worst storm...summer tires

will not... they are hockey pucks...snow tires or all season you get to enjoy moving past safely by everyone else. Quattro will not help you from summer tires on them so be careful. Right tires I drive through everything which I did last year and that was a few BAD storms
