Winter wheel fitment question- any thoughts to share?

I have 4 aftermarket RS6 replica wheels (172 style- 5 spoke) 18 x 8.5 30 ET with winter tires from a 2003 RS6 (they look the same as the 18 inch wheel that is oem on the European B7 RS4's). Tried the wheels but the spokes on the front wheel overlaps the brake caliper by a few mm. I called Lakeshore wheel who was the manufacturer and they suggested that 5 mm spacers may be used and the wheel will still be hub- centric. I should have 2-3 mm clearance then.

Alot of smart guys on this forum- any thoughts to share? Is this a safe option likely to work properly? Thanks for your input...

Hartmann wheels use spacers - except for a few that are direct fit

so if the mfr says it is ok I would believe them

You probably will need longer wheel bolts

Ideal fitament for a a 18x8.5 would be a 20ET. So a 10mm spacer... cont.

So a 10mm spacer would get the wheels out to a roughly stock look. A smaller spacer might clear the brakes but the wheels would look too far in. This may or may not be important to you on your winter wheels

everyone who sells 5mm spacers says they're hubcentric...

....but at least 1 person here had vibration issues with them. If I were you, I'd get the 8mm spacers with the hubcentric lip...make sure you also get the 8mm longer wheel bolts.

just noticed your dog matches your cars LOL.

I don't know if I like that ladder right next to the RS4, though....better move it over by the Lexus.

Could not find 8mm spacers with the lip. Hartmann will be making 10 mm spacers with the lip but no availability before january.... bummer!

they definitely exist...I had a set on my old TT.

did you try ECS Tuning?

Nope - the garage door tracks will stop it.

Got curb rash today at a bank. Grrrr

I did try ECS tuning...

They do not offer them for the B7 RS4. Think I will get the 5 mm spacers with longer bolts from ECS and pray that the Wheel stays hubcentric. Wish me luck.... and thanks for your input!
