As I am in the market for a new car, I have narrowed my choice down to either the AWD G35x or an S4. The first glaring difference is no manual option on the AWD Infiniti. The other difference, the G35x is cheaper than the S4 and better MPG.

I would like some opinions and feedback.

To provide some detail, I am looking at an 04 S4 with 60k miles for $23k and an 04 G35x with 35k miles for $20k or another one with 45k miles for $19k.

Just compare the interiors, and ignore everything else, and your choice should be clear.

Throw in everything SuperAvant mentioned, and it's a no-brainer.

it's a very nice car; good bang for the buck. It will probably cost you less in repairs.

But it's not even in the same league as the S4 in terms of handling, engine, quattro, etc. Even though it's aging, the S4 is still a hot car -- I get compliments on my '05 every now and then. A 2004 G35x is just a 4 year old Infiniti.

If you need AWD - S4 no doubt. If you don't - a 6MT RWD G35 isn't a bad car at all

Audi, more power and performance, faster depreciation, less reliable (and expensive to fix). Take a look at resale prices on the web to find out how much you lose between purchasing and selling for both. Audis suffer that way. Audi also has better fit and finish. Infiniti - better daily driver - mpg etc, lower cost, less cool (?) better reliability.

S4 Lookin Sick

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/147855/imgp0022.jpg"></center><p>I just bought (2 months ago) a 05 Moro Blue Automatic and F*$&amp;ing LOVE IT!! It looks like it does in the pic 99% of the time too. I get compliments from those who know exactly what it is alot(those who don't find out once you hit the pedel) and every girl who has gotten in it notices it's not just an Audi with the interior (Which I think is FAR Better)! As for the drive, watch it beat the M3 around the track on youtube, may not win off the line but the track is where it counts. So honestly if cost is important the G35 is not a bad option but the S4 will appeal to the driver in you. FYI only the GT-R in the nissan family will ever pass you without MODS!
