Default OK - been away a while - what's been happening on the S4 V8 mod front lately please?

Forgive the apparently presumptuous subject heading - the last time I was here I was trying to gauge how many people would be interested in adding a low-blow supercharger to their S4 V8 to obtain 500HP for <$10,000 fitted.

The Moderators deleted my post eventually and sent me an email asking me to advertise with them.

We're now negotiating advertising with AW and with any luck should be here more frequently!

Just wanted to know what mods people have been doing in general if any, and what's happening on the warranty/reliability front if anyone can help?

Best wishes,

Ram

Default Did you sell your B5?

And are you now with AmD?

Haven't been on TSN or ASN for some time so perhaps it's old news over there. ;-) Also heard there was stuff going on at AmD with JR and such ... that essentially he finally got what many thought he had coming.

Default Re: Did you sell your B5?

Hi Rob,

Really good to hear from you - The B5 is still there - pushing 451BHP and 621nm torque!

I'm working at AmD now and I've been privileged to have been given the directorate of AmD USA.

JPR resigned and as far as I know is looking to work with one (or more!) of our competitors!

He still keeps in contact I'm happy to say, and he's moving on.

Do you still have you B5?

What's happening? Is it slow on this B6 forum or is it just me - There have been 300+ hits to this thread and only one reply!!!

Must be me!

Best wishes,

Ram

Default Glad to hear you still have the MTM S4. ;)

So how did you get the US as a "territory" from that side of the Pond? Does AmD have bigger plans to serve the North American market?

Seems I read nothing but positive feedback about AmD's products, chip tuning and service from the UK forums, especially with the RS4 guys. In fact, the only negative thing I can think of had to do with how AmD was selling stock parts willingly left behind by customers or something like that.

The B6 forum is pretty slow, though traffic comes in waves. Remember, the new S4 is just ramping up over here and the enthusiast base much smaller comparitively.

And yes ... still have my Avant.

Default The problem is your question

nobody wants to sit here and simply save you the trouble of doing a few searches or going through the archives.

Hi Rob,

AmD has plans to market in the USA, Canada and Latin America - I have the responsibility of getting that going!

I'll email you soon! Just negotiating with AW on advertising - should be sorted on Monday!

Best wishes,

Ram

Nice. How do you account for dropoff at 5200 RPMs?

Default It's to do with the rolling road pronouncing the switch on the Variable Intake System....

When the Variable Intake System switches from Long Track to Short Track, the rolling road shows this in a pronounced manner because the vehicle doesn't have the same inertia on the rolling road as it would do on a road - it just has the weight on the rollers.

This is not detectable on the road.

Hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Ram
