Default Bad master/slave cylinder?

I recently bought a b6 s4 with the notion of it having a bad clutch. The car will not move under its own power. There is no bite in the clutch whatsoever. However, the clutch pedal does have resistance when being pushed down, and springs back seemingly with no issue. The car will go into “gear” with the clutch pedal pressed down, without the pedal pressed down, and with the car both on and off. I’ve been doing a ton of research online, but I haven’t seen anyone describing my same problems. I’d rather narrow down the issue before I drop the whole tranny.
