BMW Rotor hats plated from the Factory.
 

I have noticed after working for BMW for sometime and owning an e-46 m3 as well as many Audis and an r32 VW that Audi and VW does not take the extra time to plate rotor hats from the factory. My Allroad is 30 months old and hats are rusted r32 is 27th months old and hats are rusted e46 is 52 months old hats not rusted and when I see lease returns come back after 36 months not rusted as well. I think the new three and five series actually might have aluminum hats anyone know Audi and VW thinking behind this.

hmm - just looked at my 530i - rusty "hats" (bmw does not make hats since they are 1 piece rotors)
