Got some bad water stains/oxidation on the avants roof rails, can anyone recommend a good way to
 

get rid of em and make it all shiny again? :)

try clay bar first...
 

then, if it is metal, Adams Polish Metal Polish #1 and #2. if not metal, you can use a fine polish then wax it. good luck.

The S4 Avant wagon's powertrain is the same as the S4 sedan's. Aluminum roof rails are installed. The Avant models have a dual-loading cargo floor, a full-size cargo cover and a protective net.

yeah...it seems there is some sort of clear coat on it....it may be best to clay then
