I see our cars are finally in Kelly Blue Book!
38,975 for my car, I feel a little better now. Much better then the 33K the Audi dealer offered. I guess I'll call there toady to se how they came up with that low figure.

It 's an attitude that is common with Audi dealers. (NOT ALL)
In my area, The next closest Audi dealership is over 35 miles away. The local dealership also has a similar situation with the Posche and Mercedes franchises. NO COMPETITION. They know that they can sell the cars without giving what we would consider a reasonable deal. They have a captive AUDIance. But, the internet is changing the way people buy cars. I searched for mine on autotrader and got one from a dealer that was 50 miles from my home. Consumers are getting smarter.

KBB numbers are pure fiction...
Take the trade-in value and subtract 10% or so, and then you're in the right neighborhood.
This goes for retail, private party and trade-in prices.
If you can ever get a dealer to give you KBB trade-in, you're paying too much for your new car, as they're using the profit from the new car to inflate your trade-in value.
If you want to find out what your car's really worth, either try to sell it outright at a CarMax dealership, or ask a dealer to lookup the Manheim auction value; I guarantee you you'll be shocked.

Black book doesn't really track wholesale...
Not unless you have access to the real black books, not the black book information supposedly available from several sites on the web.
Really, the only way to find true wholesale values is to find someone with access to Manheim auction numbers.
