Pricing is basically the same on everything offered in OEM size and load rating, so what does the S4 forum like?
Wet weather performance has high priority for me, as I'm in the Pacific NW, but we use the S4 for winter duties too, so it needs to be able to deal with snow and a little ice.
Have a safe and happy New Years everyone!

LM-25's are quite good but there is a trick to getting the most out of a winter tire...
as many people will tell you, you want to go as narrow as possible with snow tires so that the tire can push through the top layer of snow and get down to something more solid.
i run the stock size because:
1 - i didn't have the cash to buy winter rims
2 - wanted the proper XL load rated tire
3 - even if i could afford winter rims, 17" was as small as i could go
all of this lead me to only being able to find 225's and 235's available to me. admitedly i was a bit rushed so maybe i missed something narrower but i don't know. the 225's would have to be run at a higher pressure to maintain it's load index so i went with the 235's - this information was given to me by TireRack.
what i can for sure say is that the 235 will float a lot more than a narrower tire. my brother has 215's on his A4 and they for sure dig in better. my van also has 215 winter tires and it too will corner better than the S4 with 235's. sad but true.

Check out HANKOOK

I dropped to 17" Hankooks on "Winter rims" - wrapping RIAL rims - shown here.
Summers are now 19"s wrapping Champion Racing rims - dropped the factory wheels in favour of a 2 season setup/changeover.
Hankooks are speed rated for this car - quiet and great in anything.

Dunlop WinterSport 3D's.
best snow tire I've ever owned, it's seen more snow here in the last 3 weeks than many people will see all winter (boulder, CO- about 3-4' have fallen in the last weeks, tires were amazing.)
