pbr front brake pads - no clips

pbr front brake pads - no clips
I purchased some pbr front brake pads for my B6 S4. Upon removal of the old OEM pads, I see there is a clip installed on the back of each pad to hold the pads in place on the caliper.
My problem is: the pbr pad on the outside does not have a clip attached to the back of the pad to hold it in place on the caliper. ECS Tuning sent me some clips, but there is no way to attach the clip to the back of the pbr pad.
Does anyone on the forum know how to solve this problem? If so, I would really appreciate your help.
