Recommended oil change interval

So where do you draw the line? 5000 mile changes? 3000? 1000? Daily?
The S4 is a normally aspirated engine, and not a very high strung one at that, with an absolutely huge sump.
10K miles with synthetic is absolutely no stretch; look at Porsche, who only recommend 15K/annual oil change intervals for their engines as they too run synthetic and have huge sumps...

You know what they say about a fool and his money...
Agree with 3K interval for a tuned turbo car, but doing it on an N/A V8 with 81 HP/L specific output and 11+ qt sump is excessive, IMO. Having dealer do it is borderline insane.

Ever wonder what the "real" recommended oil change interval for late model Audi's "really" is. If you use the recommended 100% Synthetic Oil meeting Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW etc. Euro Specs...would you believe 10,000 miles or 1 year typical if your driving is a good mixture of city and highway driving!
