In the regular drive mode or sport mode(not the Tip Mode)will the S-4 V-8 redline at WOT shifts?

Default In the regular drive mode or sport mode(not the Tip Mode)will the S-4 V-8 redline at WOT shifts?

I couldn't get redline by just flooring the gas in the autoshift mode. All I got was 6500 RPM. Obviously I could get 7000 RPM in the Tip mode. Could this be because of the adaptive (fuzzy logic) shift pattern and a result of driving the car easily for break in?

Default You can not get 7,000 rpm with a tip in any mode...

The transmission's highest shift point is 6,800 by design. This has been widely reported on this forum.

I thought that the engine has a 7000 RPM redline, is that also the rev limiter?

Default Redline is 7,000 and actually rev limiter is close...

to 7,400 with the manual. The tip is set to shift at 6,800 max in all gears and all modes. There is nothing you can do about it and Audi does not make a software package to change the shift points.

That's the principal reason the tip is slower than the manual.

Does anyone make a chip for the tip to allow redline and other perf. mods yet?

Default I have gotten 7k several times w/my Tip

My car seems to have many problems that are factory borne (I'm in a certified letter writing campaign with Audi at the moment), but one thing the car does is generally shift at 7K. Unless the Tach is off, the needle certainly goes to 7k before dropping the next gear. It does not do it all the time though....

Default I've gone through an extensive set of meetings...

and letters with Audi over performance lacking issues in the tip. They took my questions and problems to ZF (transmission manufacturer) and reported back that my tip was performing as designed (i.e. 6,800 max rpm, shut down features when driven hard, etc.).

Bottom line, they say my car does not have any physical problems and any issues I have with my tip car are likely marketing issues with Audi. Audi advertises the car as "A smooth as silk six-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic® automatic with race-bred steering wheel paddle shifting? Either way, you get a rocket"...

In fact, the tip car significantly underperforms and does not reach the advertised horsepower of the car because it shifts below redline. It may take a large number of tip owners acting together to address this issue and get some software upgrades.

Default i'm in for sure

AoA tells me my car is performing as designed. First to second at 6300, and all the rest of the shifts at 6800. Before 5k mile maintainance, it shifted at 7000. I was totally snowed by Audi's marketting. I'm driving the last Audi I will ever own if AoA does not make this right. We need a bunch of owners to team up on this issue to get something done.

Audi's marketting should read as follows:
Either way, you get a rocket. Well, unless you get a tip. If you get a tip, your car will be a lot slower. Haha.

Default I saw that O.CT has a chip that they claim raises HP to 380 .....

with Milltech exhaust, 93 Octane etc. This was on the www.stratmosphere.com website. (At least they publish the requirements of the chip to get the advertised HP) They didn't say anything about changing shift patterns however. This was Sat night so I will have to call this week to ask some questions.
