Default start up noise
Looked at a B6 S4 today, nice, but do they all make a metallic noise on starting? Sales person says yes, but I find that hard to swallow.

straight gear whine. Very powerful sound if you ask me.

The only noise of concern was the meatllic rattle or rap right when started. I have a B5 S4 now and have owned 2 V8s and an earlier S4. None exhibited a noise, an ugly metallic rap like that.

Likely the cam drive chains, sounded like a 911 w/ a bad chain tensioner, but only for a sec or so.

I kind of like the chain noise. Of course it's not as loud anymore with the non-res on. hehehe :-)
