Those who have painted their brake calipers, what paint did you use?
I found that there is a spray and a brush on type. Anyone use the G2 system? Is there anything better or easier out there?

G2 system

Brush is easier...no need to mask. Duplicolor is 'same' as G2 at 1/2 the cost.

Dupicolor, but cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned. Paint is holding up well, through
several track events and Chicago winters. Probably put 5-6 coats on.

I used G2. Check my pic post.
15k on my painted calipers. Had my wheels off the other day and they look perfect. No chips or cracks at all despite probably thousands of heat cycles. I coated a test piece of metal in my garage to test durability. I can hit it with a hammer and it won't mar. There may be cheaper systems but I would use G2 again and again.

We used G2. We put it on right after we bought the car (not so much cleaning to do)...
and we are at about 8000 miles now and it still looks great!

If you track or auto-x, I'd stay away from G2..
some of my friends have melted the paint right onto the rotor from high heat..
If no track or auto-x, you'll be fine.. |
