Hello,

I am lucky enough to have a 2004 S4 Cabriolet Automatic that’s been an utter joy to own. Something has been happening maybe once a month in which after sitting at a stoplight or stopping for a stop sign, when I go to drive, the engine revs up like it’s in neutral and the car just rolls along. It’s like it wants to drive but can’t get into gear? Usually if I slow back down and hit the pedal again, it will drive normal. I repeat, it’s an automatic transmission.

It is very rare in occurrence and the car only has 87,500 miles, so I doubt the transmission is going, though nothing truly surprises me with this car anymore. Is it a sensor? Could it need new fluid? I’m a third owner and have done a ton of work but this one has been harder to figure out. No lights or codes are on or in VCDS/VAGCOM.
