For those of you in hot climates (and especially if you drive cars with both leather and alcantara during the summer so you can directly compare day to day), how do they compare for "swamp back/butt?"

Are they about the same? or is Alcantara slightly better but not quite to the breathability level of a cloth seat? or maybe it's just as good as a cloth seat when it comes to swamp back?

We had one of the hottest July's on record and I can honestly say I was VERY happy to have the alcantara. It definitely doesnt retain heat or create additional back sweat like full leather does. Very easy to clean and maintain too.

I honestly dont think Ill be able to do full leather seats again.

The Alacantara inserts don't retain the heat like the leather in my previous cars. I have the all black interior and it's not bad here in the Las Vegas dry heat.

Hands down Alcantara is the winner. I tend to sweat a lot and whenever I'm sitting in leather seats I come out with a wet back and swamp a$$. With my alcantara it's MUCH better...often my shirt's not wet at all when I finish driving.

I fully agree. After having my car for over a year now, I love the Alcantara. It's much cooler in the summer, I don't even notice the seats being hot. I never get the sweaty shirt/back of legs that I used to with leather. And they're warmer in the winter, and heat up very quickly.

Alcantara is better than leather in the summer and is also not as cold in the winter... best of both worlds if you ask me. I used to have it on my B5 S4 and missed it in my RS4. My new S4 arrives next week hopefully and I ordered the alcantara again...

We've had a record number of 100+ degree days here in Houston this year and honestly I LOVE my Alcantara seats over full leather. Full leather gets incredibly hot even with tint and the Alcantara just is so much more comfortable and durable.
