Neal when is the next meet up? I will post some pics of the new quad tips I put on the Milltek non res exhaust. Hope you are staying warm with all this weather we have been having!

Excellent choice Steve. Looks great. With springs alone you will wear out the stock dampers very quickly. You made the right choice that is in opting out on springs only. I know this from experience when I tried it on my GTI. On my TT I went with Koni coils which transformed the car. My vote, don't cheap out, go with coil overs. Springs alone give em a bone.

not necessarily true... i had springs for 3 years just fine on my 350z... and just found out from Audi that my trade in (2008 335i) had a leaking rear shock (KW Varient 1)

I'm sure that with the OE Sport Springs (moderate 1.2" drop) you should be fine...

I don't understand why swapping springs will wear out the dampers any quicker. A damper is essentially a piston in a bore and, unless it is slamming into the end of its travel, I don't understand why simply repositioning that piston in the bore will cause any faster wear.

Is this accelerated wear a fact, or a myth that has become a "fact" because people believe it to be true?

How is the ride with these springs, close to stock? Do you have ARS, if so does it still make a difference?

@jts4 The wheels are flush to the fender

@DrRodge the ride feels very much OEM... Comfortable. I do not have ADS.
