$2,579 is ridiculous. It is clearly $920 on the Audi site (and that has gone up from $800 when I bought in in August 2012):

Some people claim to have had it thrown in but I always doubt those claims and think they either paid for it in the price of the car, value of trade in or financing rate.

My '13 RS5 approaching 47K. Such a nice ride I plan to keep it for awhile. Audi Care Plus goes for $1230 and covers to 75K. I don't have an "Indy" shop so maintenance will be by dealer. Any new opinions about Audi Care Plus?

So, things have changed from 'Audi care plus' to 'Audi care select'.
You now have to purchase increments of service. I just purchased Audi Care Select packages for my 2012 S4 for the 55 & 65K and for the 75 and 85K increments. Total Cost = 1538. Cost for the 55K service = ~740 as well as the 75K service (which includes the DSG fluid change) = ~1600. Given that the 65k and 85k are just minimal services (oil change, etc, but about ~250 each, this is a big savings.
