Having sold an Audi A5 2.0 2011 and the gear box went 3 months later I now find my self with an RS 5 2011 and it wont select "Reverse" it seems all too familiar. Audi must know that these gear boxes all have problems come to think of it Vw/Audi must know from their Touareg's too that all seem to have problems 2011. So what are they doing about it???? Nothing I imagine ?

FYI, this is not the RS5 forum. But the DSG trans in the S4 and S5s has been pretty good, but not perfect. Some have had issues with the DSG trans. The 6MTs have been pretty bulletproof, although the clutch is not as stout as many(including myself) would like. That being said, the B9 S4s and S5s will only be available with a Tiptronic AT. that might just say a lot.

probably a cost saving somewere for tiptronic. but strange new A4 has DSG aswell

I don't believe the DSG is as stout as the Tiptronic which has been fairly bulletproof. More torque generated with the V6 turbo /supercharged S4 engine vs the turbo 4 cyl A4 engine
