basically in a 255/35/19, either the Continental Extreme Contact DWS or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus. (see link)

the ones with blue dots in the far left column come in a 255/35/19.

I have run 4 tires on that list on S4's over last 10 years:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S
Yokohama ADVAN S.4.
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (current)
All these tires work very well in dry and have good snow traction. They were all near the top of that tire rack chart when I bought them.
The new version of the Pilot Sport A/S is the Pilot Sport A/S plus. The new version of the Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S is the Pirelli Pzero Nero All Season.
I have heard very good things about the Conti DWS and the Pilot Sport A/S Plus. The Pilot Sport A/S plus is pricier, but a better summer tire performance, the Conti DWS is a better winter tire performance and cheaper. I think either one of those tires is a good choice for you.

I'm running Conti DWS on my 19 inch rims. I've only had them for a week but like them so far. Had our first inch of snow in Chicago since getting them and no problems. I'll have to see what happens when the snow gets deeper...

I think the Michelins MIGHT have a small advantage in the dry. But the Conti DWS are a much better winter tire, have better tread life, and are significantly cheaper.
