I have the Pilot sport A/S plus on 18's. I really like them. No idea if they're "better" than the Contis but they are certainly excellent tires. Wet and dry have both been basically perfect and they handled the two light snows that we've had with style. I wanted to gt the Contis but they were backordered forever. The Michelins were available and the rebate they had in place helped, I am happy with my purchase.

Running Conti DWS. Amazing tire. Put them on in the fall and they handled almost as well as my P-zero's. They were amazing in the christmas blizzard in NY, and just yesterday I had to get to work early for an emergency and the roads had yet to be plowed in PA. About 4 inches of fresh snow and the car was like a little tractor.

I have the 19 inch Pilot Sport A/S Plus on my car. I found some negative reviews of the Conti DWS online (sidewall problems) - but couldn't find anything negative on the Pilot Sports.
In the reviews, the Conti has an edge in snow, but the Pilot Sports perform better in the dry (which is what I wanted to optimize on). I've had the Pilot Sports pretty deep snow and they performed perfectly for me. I'm very happy with the decision here.

Also using DWS here and they are working great in the snows we have had here. I can tell theres a significant drop in dry performance but the AWD picks up a lot of slack on that. If it was a RWD car I dont know if I would run them. The main thing that got me was my dealer said these have a 30k mile guarantee. Any tire that will be replaced if they wear out before 30k and perform like these do are a win for me.

I have experience with either those or very similar earlier versions of those 4 tires. The mich p/s as, p zero and 960as are excellent in dry and wet. The bridgestone 'feels' the best performer, with the michelin being the cushiest. The b-stone is not that good in the snow, just mediocre. I don't know the other two.
I have bought the conti extreme contact (earlier version of DWS) for two different cars. While the DWS may be updated, the CEC came out to similar hoopla/fanfare back in 04/05. Everyone swore by it, and it was half the price of the competition so I took the plunge. Terrible cheap tire in dry and wet, required 38-40psi rather than stock 34 to feel decent, noisy, low grip and feel. It was also mediocre on snow, nothing to write home about.
I have my serious doubts that this latest cheap conti will be such a magic bullet. If you looked at tirerack in 04/05, the CEC was at the top of its category.
You get what you pay for. In any case, there is no such thing as an awesome 4-season tire.

In case anyone is interested in the snow/ice performance, my used 2010 S4 came with the Pilot Sport A/S Plus. After a month of driving in dry and snow, I actually decided not to put on my winter tires since they were ok in the snow. Pleasently surprised by the snow/ice performance. However, my drive is short and if I had a longer drive, I would rather have winter tires for better safety.
