Would a dealer swap wheels between two S4's in stock?
Let's say a dealer has a black S4 with 19" rims and a white S4 with 18" rims. And let's say I want a black S4 w/ 18" rims.
Do you guys know if a dealer would swap the rims to make the sale? And of course adjust the MSRP accordingly. I wouldn't want to have the dealer do it if i was charged a premium for it.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
No matter how hard I try I can't get myself to like the 19" stock rims. It is the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger. I love the 18" rims however.
PS: I will be leasing so I can't swap the rims after purchase without wasting money considering i would be driving the car for only 3.5 years.

Also remember that the rims cost much much more than the $1000 price if not purchased as an option at time of purchase. The last time I got a quote on an 18" RS4 rim from Audi it was about $600.
Why not just ask the dealer and/or see if they can find one equipped the way you want at another dealer? From your earlier post you are in Northern/Southern California so there should be about 500 S4s within a 100 mile area.
Or, just order the car and it will show up optioned exactly how you want in about 90 days.

I think they would do it if you paid the upcharge for 19" rims and wanted to swap them out for 18" rims on another S4, but don't expect to get $900 credit for the swap. I think the 19" wheels are much nicer than the 18's, but it's a matter of personal preference. The only down side to the 19's is the potential headache of cleaning brake dust from between the 15 spokes.

during my shopping experience, I noticed that dealers are extremely hesitant to mess with their packages. they don't like swapping wheels since they have to adjust the window sticker.
never hurts to ask i suppose.

The 18" S4 rims are 20's on the S8 and those definitely look cool. I just think the 18's are too small. S4-19's definitely look better in person.

I'm not really in love with either wheel style. Don't hate either. But I do prefer the 18" style. And since the 18" tires are cheaper and have a better ride, I went for the 18"ers. If you don't like either, I would go for the 19" wheels and try to sell them. Then buy wheels (and tires?) that you like.

If you are leasing, you are better off with the 18" wheels. The tires are cheaper to replace. Also there is a larger selection of 18" all season tires that will have much better treadwear and last longer. Also if you track the car(without A/ tires) the wheels will be lighter. BTW,you can buy some nice 19" replica wheels and sell them when your lease is over. Tat would reduce the cost significantly.

The S6 comes with the same style 18" S4 wheels but in 19" size, if you don't want to go all the way to 20". I'm OK with the design of the S4 18" rims but would prefer them in 19" size.
