I'm honestly wishing I bought another TT 2.0 Q. I've never had buyers remorse before but it really hit me this time.

It's not so much the money (I got loyalty and supplier discounts and 1.9%) but its the fun factor. It's just feels like a big cruiser and in order to feel a rush you end up way beyond the speed limit and draining the fuel tank at a scary pace. I guess I don't need S power and speed.

I'm tempted to trade immediately for a certified 2011/12 TT for ~40k. I know I'm going to take a big hit on taxes, instant depreciation and registration but I just can't get into this car.


We also have an A3 so I could have gone for a coupe again

Any advice? (or buyers)

Give it some time. The S4 has many hidden treasures you cannot discover right away. Further, it's is extremely rare to hear of an S4 owner who dislikes his car the longer he owns it. You'll like it. Maybe it will refine and mature you in the process- not a bad thing per se.

Wow, really? I dumped my 2008 TT 3.2Q for a 2010 S4 and haven't looked back. The S4 is a FAR FAR FAR better car in every dynamic than the TT ever was to me. I love this car.

I also came out of a Mk2 TT (roadster) into a 2012 S4, and I hear what you're saying. TT felt lighter on its feet, and the lower center of gravity, MagRide suspension, and 2.0T engine all helped the fun factor. But we made a conscious choice to become a one-car household (traded in our allroad at the same time) so we really wanted something with four doors that also had performance. Love the way the S4 puts its power down, sport diff is great, but it is definitely a different experience from a TT. If you already have a family hauler then maybe a TTS/RS would be worth a look.

It is definitely understandable that a heavier car doesn't give you the tossable "fun factor".........but this is why you test drive a vehicle before buying.

You probably want to hold off selling the car and buying another one just yet. Maybe a couple of more test drives would help you make up the mind.

If you go back to the dealer, I bet they'd pretend it never happened, minus about $500 or so provided you haven't driven it extensively.

I've burned through 3/4 tank in just 2 days (I have a 70 mile round trip commute where I stayed in comfort mode.) I noticed that the gas meter falls pretty quickly in any kind of city driving.

Is this a new engine thing or is this just life in a 4000 lb car?
