I have one on order from ECS at the moment. When it comes in I plan on measuring it and modeling it in SolidWorks. If I find the time I may just make one out of Aluminum and use the stick from the plastic unit.
Heck the plastic part is the easy part to make!

I was about to order a dipstick, and part of the problem might be that ECStuning lists 2 different dipsticks for the B8 S4 and 3 different prices:
mfg PN 06E198045 (advertised as B8 S4 dipstick, $15.95, in stock Jan 13):<O</O
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/ES2070638/ES2070638/<O</O
<O</O
and mfg PN 06E115611H (advertised as B8 S4 dipstick, $28.17, in stock) <O</O
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/06E115611H/ES280765/<O</O
<O</O
and same PN 06E115611H as above but not advertised as S4 dipstick, $16.95 instead of $28.17, and not in stock until Jan 13th) http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/06E115611H/ES2070647/<O</O
<O</O
what's the deal?<O</O
<O</O
Then there's Europaparts.com (advertised as B8 S4 dipstick, says mfg PN is 06E115611H , $21.95, in stock)<O</O
http://www.europaparts.com/oil-dipstick-06e115611h.html<O</O
<O</O
<O</O
Is there a length or calibration marking difference between these two parts (PN 06E115611H and PN 06E198045)? Is one "more correct" than the other? <O</O

How much drop has your MMI shown while the dipstick level has been fixed?

No.. They are all the exact same part. They are just from different venders who carry Genuine VW/Audi parts.
I would honestly just pick the one thats in stock and the least expensive.
Often times we get the same parts from different venders because we can get them at a better price (better for you) or the time it takes to get parts to us is shorter.

What does your receipt from the 5k service say. Did they put 6.6 quarts or ~7?
