Default Exclusive Color back on for 12/11 delivery

Just got the email from my SA saying the Sepang order has changed again and been moved to a November production. Far cry from the "being built sometime in first qtr. of 2012" crap Audi had been telling the dealer since a July update.

Hopefully this will be good news for the other Exclusive orders that have been delayed.

All this back and forth stuff since my May order has been feeling like the Market lately.

exclusive orders shouldnt effect the time it takes to get the car. The dealer probably doesnt have a production slot and they are using that as an excuse to you.

I can order a 12 S4 now and have it in 12 weeks maybe 14--15 since the excl. paint.

let me know if you need help.

Exclusive colors can make a difference in the production time - especially certain specific colors.

It can make abig difference. Plus, there was info out there that no exclusive colors were going to be produced in calendar year 2011.

Agreed. Although it looks like they are going to be produced before the year is up now according to the SA. Until the other day though, the Audi Help Desk was telling the dealer first quarter of 2012.

If it helps, I have a 2012 A5 on order (in USA) in a special color. It was ordered in April/May 2011, and I was given a Commission number. I was told production week 48, with delivery in January 2012, but just yesterday my dealer called me and sent me the updated info showing production week 36, with delivery in October 2011. And the car is being built in the special color. I'm not sure I'll believe it until I see the car in person, but all the info is showing that its going to be built as ordered.

Default Things are looking up. :)

I think that is very similar to my Monza story I mentioned earlier. They almost want to put you off telling you it will be delayed or they have no idea when it will be produced, then "surprise!...it will be here in two months". I don't know why they operate this way.

Now I see why a couple dealers refer to Audi as the "four ring circus".

Yeah, an exclusive color is probably going to double your wait time from order to delivery; it seems to be the norm. Audi just doesn't have the capacity to keep up with demand.

It shouldnt effect the time it takes to go into production. It does take a little longer once it is in production.

Sorry for being unclear guys.
