Fan\Temp Sensor Issue
Hi all,
A few days ago when I drove my car (2012 S4) home from work and parked in my driveway, after shutting the car off the fan continued running. The car was at normal operating temperature when I shut it off, and it was a cool day, around 60 degrees. It ran for probably 30 seconds or so and shut off. The next day I went to drive the car and when I hit the button on remote to unlock the doors, the fan came back on again and ran for about 20 seconds and kicked off. Ever since then, about 10-20 seconds after I start the car the fan starts running, even when the car is cold. When I stop at traffic lights I can hear the fan running also. When i shut the car off the fan runs for around 30 seconds, then turns off.. sometimes it will kick back on a few minutes later on its own, then shut off again.
The temp gauge on the dash show's fine. I replaced the thermostat and water pump last year, so I don't think that is the issue, as the car is not overheating.
I've read several other threads about temp sensors & water in the ECU boxes, but those were all regarding the B6 model. I can't find any direct info about this on the B8. Does the B8 have the same relay in the ECU box as the B6? Does it also have the same 2 temp sensors? When I google the temp sensor, I only get 1 result.
I checked for codes and there are none stored or active.
Any ideas???

Correction..
The fan kicks on and runs about 20 seconds every time I unlock the doors. Cold or hot. I'm guessing it's the temp sensor. Anyone have any ideas before I start throwing parts at it???
