Which is faster - 2012 S4 vs. 2012 S5 (stock) ; S4 vs S5 (chipped)
I was wonder which is faster in real world tests - stock Supercharger V6 S4 or stock V8 S5 ? chipped S4 vs. S5?
Which is faster 0-60? 0-100? quarter mile?
Officially, they are both 4.9sec 0-60. But there may be discrepancies in the real world tests. Just wondering.

Unfortunately, the 4.2 v8 doesn't have near the potential for upgrades that the supecharged 3.0 has. And in stock form, the 3.0 is faster. Much better gas mileage as well.

I love the S5 looks, beautiful car, better looking that the S4 but the V8 makes the S5 200 lbs heavier and more important that weight is in nose over the front wheels, just where you don't want it.

I have an S5 and I can tell you this based on several drives in an S4.
Not exactly sure which is quicker to 60 or in the 1/4 mile, but I do know that in every aspect of driving, the S4 is phenomenally more fun. The response is quicker and you feel like you're moving faster, so most likely you are. The V8 in the S5 is a thorough disappointment except for the sound.
I don't feel that the biggest areas of concern are where you're asking, I feel the overall drivability of the engine is where it's at. S4-100 S5-0. Sad as it is, I own one. S5
I spend more time on the S4 forums than on the S5 forums because of your sweet motor.

I thought the 2012 S5's were going to switch to the 3.0TFSI like the cabrio already has??? Audi.de has the 2012 S5 with the V-6, not the V-8.
That V-8 sound is the only thing better than the V-6.
