Which gas stations have the highest quality gas?

I'm going to avoid putting crappy gas in my new car. I'm avoiding anything owned by BP (because of multiple obvious reasons). I've heard 76 has quality gas, and I think Mobile.

Have there been any significant studies about the quality of gas at particular stations?

Most will recommend Shell, sadly in my area they put 10% ethanol in EVERYTHING so I am SOL from an octane standpoint, but Shell Vpower is good stuff.

I just posted about how useful you are in another thread, and there you go being useful and informative again.

I've tried all brands of gas and never seen a noticable difference between one to the next so long as you are using a fairly top tier gasoline. Independant reports will also confirm that they are all pretty much the same and the main difference is the additives they use. That said, find whatever brand you like that's the cheapest, it won't make much of a difference as long as it's a top tier.

2nd to Zerin, never seen much difference. The Shell station by my house is now a Chevron station and gas seems same. As NWS4Guy said, we are on the west coast and have crappy eco friendly 92 oct gas.

There comes a point where you have to give in and just buy the gas thats closest to you or the cheapest, but at least a respectable name. I have a Shell thats closest to me but I really dont like their gas. Both my 335 and now my s4 run so much better on Sunoco or BP(I know, blasphemy) than Shell. I get like 2mpg better on both of those doing the same type of driving over the Shell. I dont know what it is but thats my observation over the past 4 years.

I wouldnt trust the gas from 7-11 or Sam's Club but if I was running on empty Im pretty sure Id stop in for a gallon to get me to the next gas station.

Honestly, I've used Costco/Sams/Kroger gas and it all drives the same. They use the same suppliers as the major stations.

Your S4 came with a Top Tier Gas brochure. All Audi's do... ;)

I only buy 76, Chevron and Shell in So Cal.

I generally go to the Shell full serve in town. Here in Canada Shell' s highest octane has no ethanol. I think it runs the best. In this area all the gas comes from the same refinery, they are blended differently with various additives, ethanol etc.

Only go to Shell for the 93 V-Power even if I have to go outta my way.Car runs like a champ with it:D
