Default NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Can the navigation functions be accessed/changed while driving or do you have to be stopped? Also, can the running lights be set to stay on full time when the turn signal is in operation? Thanks for the info. Picking up my S4 later this month, pics to follow!

I believe nav can be changed while in motion (I haven't used it in several weeks LOL) and "winking" can be disabled via VAG-COM. Here are some possibly helpful links:

Yes, you can interface while driving. The system will occasionally (and seemingly at random) give a warning screen saying not to use the system while driving, but you can just click through it.

It will give the warning screen if the car is in motion, but not if the car isn't moving. It's not really random.

If you have voice recognition just use that and avoid the warning all together. Much easier and faster to enter a destination or search for a point of interest.

Appreciate the answers. It's what I had hoped for. My brother has a vehicle that won't let you interface with the nav if in motion. What a major pain.

If it helps at all, the system will give you a warning but just once during your current drive and this happens only when using the speller or the phone number dial via MMI. Go back into the system, during the same drive, and you won't get that msg.

Thought I'd share for those that thought their vehicle was doing "random" things. Took a few long drivers to figure this out.

Enjoy,

P
