Default 2010 B8 Audi S4 oil consumption issue

Hi guys,
I own a 2010 B8 Audi S4 with less than 80K miles, I am experiencing a oil consumption issue. I recently spend about $4k in costs with separator, valves, Gasket and hoses changed. Now my mechanic is saying to pay up 7-8K additional to have piston rings changes with new hoses and valves. I am burning 1qrt of oil every 150 miles. I performed a consumption test myself. I called Audi USA, but I am out of the 8/80k warranty since it is 2019. I hear Next time I can add oil to your car add a bottle of "High Mileage Compression Repair (with ring seal)" to your oil. ($8) It took about a 200 miles of driving for it to start working but...my car no longer uses any oil!!! Is this safe? Can someone help me fix this issue. Please advise. In desperate need of repairing this issue.

Hello everybody! I'm pretty new to this website!

My 2013 Audi S4 is causing me some issues. I started it up one morning, and I just heard some horrible rattle from the engine. It hasn't stopped since then, I took it to a shop and got the injectors, plugs etc all replaced and it still hasn't helped. The car still seems to be driveable.

The check engine light and EPC light came on, and its reading Cylinder 4 misfire?

It's got currently 160,000 KM's.

I'm not really a mechanical guy at all, so I'd appreciate any sort of help I could get from you guys! the car is currently sitting at an Audi Specialist shop right now as we speak, I'm making this thread out of just being scared haha. They said It'd take them a couple of days, so I'd love to know what's up with the car before I go there and they hand me a huge bill.

I couldn't seem to upload the videos I have of it on here, so I put them on IMGUR.

https://imgur.com/a/0Ngq8ms

This video was taken after it was sitting for 3 days in the cold, so its a cold start.

This car was meticulously taken care of, oil changes every 5,000 KMS.

Please help?

I was apr stage 2+ lots of headache imo. Melted cats, test pipes on these cars are very loud. I never really enjoyed it after the cats melted. That was maybe 2 months after going stage 2.

Default Scalloped tires and Headlight range control defective

Hi all, just wanted to get some assistance with the following;

Scalloped tires - When I switched out my summers for winters, my mechanic mentioned my tires are “scalloped”. After doing a couple of searches of what it meant, there’s nothing identified faulty about my suspension. Car by the way is still all stock. Any suggestions for correcting the wear?

Headlight range control defective - ??? Guess there’s a module that need replacing? I normally try and by the parts and try and tinker with the car when I can, if it’s outside of my realm, then i just drop it off in the shop with the parts.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Besides suspension issues, misalignment or even out of balance or out of round wheels can cause scalloping/cupping. Take the car to a qualified tire store with a Hunter machine and can perform a 4 wheel alignment as specified by Audi.

Thanks for suggestion. Will definitely give it a go to avoid the same results on my winters.

Cheers.

Hi AW peeps! I need to fix or replace my transmission. The mechatronic is okay, but they need to replace some mechanical parts, and it will cost a (relative) fortune. I'm planning to sell the car, a 2014 S4, and probably buy a 2022 RS5. They found a used transmission with 160,000 KM on it. That would cost me about $4k to replace. Other option is to rebuild, but that could be $5k - $6 plus, because they won't know the cost of the parts until they open it up. The used tranny comes with a 3 month warranty, on parts only. If I choose to repair mine, I'll get a 6 - 12 month warranty on parts and labor. But again, I'm selling it soon.

Any ideas on best option? TIA!

Default 2014 s4 Transmission question

I was wondering if you could provide me with a little of your knowledge. Quick backstory, bought 2014 s4 stage 2+ with 95k miles. Drove it for awhile then money shifted it and sent it to the moon (from 6th @ 100~+mph to 2nd) transmission got stuck in 2nd with and I could not remove from gear with clutch depressed until I slowed down, as I got under speed it allowed me to put in neutral. Have new motor installed from a 36k mile pullout running and driving. I did not replace clutch just simply replaced motor. Transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation until warmed and it begins to become sticky/ get stuck in gear. If I preload engine with parking brake on you can hear a centrifugal clanking sound coming from transmission area. Slave cylinder squeaks during depression. I’m having a slight vibration during idle and up through the rpm range, feels very centered in the vehicle with no grinding or anything more. Still runs drives and pulls very hard. Any thoughts?
